Every player gets to have one signature for each character they are playing, and with a little bit of easy coding, the site will run through those signatures at random with every time a player's posts or profile are being called up.
Ok, here are the rules for the signatures, since we DO like keeping the conformity:
- First of all, make sure that there are no offensive images being used, nor any inappropriate ones. We, as admins, reserve the right to remove signatures that we find offensive through overt nudity, suggestiveness or any other provocation along those lines. If a player keeps on using images that are clearly out of the question, we even reserve the right to crack down on said player harder than just removing the signature. Use your common sense, people.
- Size Requirements: Width 580 x Height 200 for 'solid' ones, the same restriction for the image size for signatures in which some of the text 'overflows' around the edges.
- For conformity reasons, we would ask that every signature is given a small border within the size limitations. There are various ways/ styles/ colors such a border can be made in a way fitting to the signatures -- for ideas, please visit this post (again, courtesy of Colins) where a great variety is shown (except for the Selkie signature which has no border) or feel free to use this template for your own manips.
- We would ask you not write an essay on your signature -- if you want any writing on it, the character name and perhaps a short catch-phrase will suffice. You are, of course, free to display your character's power within the signature.
- Also, if you play several characters and want to display a signature, please be prepared to have a signature for each of your character, not only for one or two of them.
- IMPORTANT: To add your signatures, copy the following code AS IS, paste it into the Signature field (Preferences -> Change Signatures -> Big Empty Box under which 'Preview Signature' is clickable), replace your url here with the url under which your signature is hosted (photobucket, tinypic, etc.) and click 'Edit Signature'.
- If you have one character, your code is:
- Code:
-
[center][img]your url here[/img][/center]
- If you have two characters, your code is:
- Code:
-
[center][rotate][img]your 1st url here[/img][rotate][img]your 2nd url here[/img][rotate][/center]
- If you have three characters, your code is:
- Code:
-
[center][rotate][img]your 1st url here[/img][rotate][img]your 2nd url here[/img][rotate][img]your 3rd url here[/img][rotate][/center]
- If you have four characters, your code is:
- Code:
-
[center][rotate][img]your 1st url here[/img][rotate][img]your 2nd url here[/img][rotate][img]your 3rd url here[/img][rotate][img]your 4th url here[/img][rotate][/center]
- Always center your signatures (already included in the coding templates above).
- Caution: If you hit 'Preview Signature' to preview what it will look like after putting the code into the appropriate box, it will not show up right in the preview. Once you hit 'Edit Signature' though, if you have used the above code and not messed with it past entering your image location, it will work just fine.
- Anyone not wishing to display a signature is not forced to do so. Anyone not wishing to see all the signatures or anyone who might have issues with the high intensity of images, there is an option to disable their showing. Simply go to Preferences, then Board Settings, then scroll down to 'show signatures' and uncheck the box there.
- If you would like to have a signature for your characters but are graphically challenged, feel free to post a request for a signature to be made for you -- one of our graphic whiz kids (here's looking at Angela, Ashley, Colins, Eric, Makky, Matt W, Zeke .. and whoever else I might be forgetting right now, and I'm sure I AM forgetting people!) will (hopefully) pick up your request and create your signatures for you.
