- Fifteen million killed in genocide. Magneto rumored to be among them. His beloved nation Genosha has been reduced to nothing more than ashes and broken buildings, along with the grisly remains of the dead scattered across the walk ways. The cries of his people are rendered immortal, as his daughter, Polaris creates art in the squalid wake of his death: a huge three headed statue in the middle of the newly created desert island.
Hatred is now ever present in the streets of world. The number of anti-mutant protests have skyrocketed into the millions in recent months. This new behavior in humans will only create the worst possible story the world has ever seen to date. To try and relax human and mutant connections, Professor Charles Francis Xavier, leader in genetic science, has come out of the shadows on two legs announces to the world that he is a mutant.
Hoping that coming out of the closet will cure mutant and human relations is a valiant belief, but it fails to do anything but send people off the deep end. Mutant murders are scattered world wide, even though it has become common knowledge in higher places that in four to five generations homo sapiens will only be little more than a memory, and the mutant race will take over as next stage of human life. The government, however, is not releasing this information, nor will they ever. The only result of such an information leak will be mass chaos and more lives on both sides being lost.
In the midst of all this turmoil, Bolivar regains control of the sentinel program and begins to make bigger, better machines. These new Sentinels have taken over the airways and fly low over the cities in search of their prey. Using a sensory location device, they are able to home in on the mutant gene signature from miles away. Once found, the mutant is either killed or taken to a undisclosed secure location. These attacks have caused mass chaos and controversy, as the death tolls in both mutants and humans rise. In order to counteract, Xavier has created a special suit to mask the mutant gene - but it's not being given to just anyone.
The Brotherhood has been reformed by the twins, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, who both know now that this is beyond all humanity and needs to be stopped in any way possible. They have taken on their father's role, and a deep anger and hatred bind them to deep depression. The Brotherhood is both reformed and reborn, along with a new passion for taking over the world, which is embedded in them like a disease that cannot be cured. The mutants, some refugees of the disaster, are already prepared to destroy the humans and become the rulers of the world.
Alternatively, however, S.W.O.R.D., the sister organization of S.H.I.E.L.D has reopened the Weapon X project. New Weapons are being formed and old ones are wanted for recapture.
Peace is gone. War is the only answer.
